Bis repetita placent - The things that please are those that are asked for again and again. (Horace)

Well as I send this off I am taking a break from the beaches of Ecuador and the sun and water that is blessed by the equator. I hope you enjoyed Chapter One (seeing 150+ downloads makes it all worth it, thank you) and are ready for a quick following Chapter Two. Once again, tell your friends, play it loud, leave some feedback. Yes, you are social networking, it is a crazy concept, but it is here. Back to the beach for me for a few more days here in paradise.

Important Note- I promise that the next mixes will be ¨mixed¨ much much better. I will have new equipment and have a much clearer grasp on what I want to do. These first two are just to introduce you to me and my style of music. Be ready for the world.

Omne initium est difficile (Latin)- Every beginning is difficult

So it took some work, and the time has finally come... My first ever MP3 mix is available now. I might even just call in a compilation because my 5 year old laptop does not fancy programs that would allow me to mix properly at this time. So here is the first Chapter of the DanCeLouder mixes. Hip-hop, mashups, remixes, reggaeton, grime, you name it... enjoy and check back soon for chapter 2 and then every month for some new stuff to get you moving and people listening.

Welcome to the Oh! Six... NYC Style

It was a 12 hour train ride from North Carolina that led to an amazing trip. Shouts to Streets, Nugget, and Stretch for an awesome time. We went to two awesome parties/shows that you must try and catch before you die.

For the New Years Eve Eve party we went to The MotherFucker Party at Avalon, an old cathedral. The Juan Maclean played and were absolutely heart stopping. Can't really link to it, but visit the site and check out the radios, its electronic/intrumental/awesome/dnb/synth/rock/amazing.

The second pic is from New Years Eve at The Rub Party in Brooklyn's Southpaw. If you are ever going to the City, plan your trip around one of their shows. I guarantee some of the greatest music you have ever heard and a dance party that will make you dance like it was the last night of your life.

As for some mixes and sounds to keep your feet busy...

For your grime fix, head over to Hostile Airwaves and go to the download section and get the mix "True Grime" (mp3), and as many of the grime episodes as you can. This is some of the freshest grime you will hear.

For a great Reggaeton fix, check out DJayRAGE, particularly his Reggaeton Mix (mp3).

I love oldies music, and oldies music mash-ups even more. Here is a great Temptations Vs. Sean Paul mix from Cosmo Baker of The Rub: Temptations - Papa Was a Rolling Stone (mp3).

REMEMBER!!! WHEN DOWNLOADING MP3S... RIGHT CLICK AND CHOOSE "SAVE TARGET AS". This will allow you to keep it forever. Enjoy the party.

The Temporary and Current Logo for DanCeLouder
-Plus a lesson in music from around the world.

To commemorate the current logo, please head over to www.pop77.com and download the newest mix, P77_042(mp3) from them for some lower key rock and good hip hop combined together, once again Pop77 brings their own style in a mix for all to enjoy.

Also, this week we have an awesome grime mix from Logan Sama(mp3) that will blow your head off and give you a great intro to UK Hip Hop if you are still pink.

Take some time to head over to Wikipedia and learn about what Grime really is and then go out and find some and learn more on your own.

I've been having a lot of fun playing music for people so I thought I would also post some of the stuff that people seem to react the most to for your listening pleasure.

First is the Brittany Spears vs. Mike Jones song, "Trippin' Toxic"(html ---> mp3) brought to you by those crazy cats at Hollertronix.

Second will be the Reggaeton, Spanish, Grime, Baile Funk.....AKA awesome mix "Heatwave" (mp3). Garenteed to make you move. Found this at www.blentwell.com. It comes from ScandalBag.

Speaking of Baile Funk... check out this song by Bonde De Role, "Funk De Esfiha" (mp3)
Their recent album Melo Do Tabaco EP is the first album to be released under Diplo's new label, Mad Decent

Take some time to head over to Wikipedia and learn about what Baile Funk really is and then go out and find some and learn more on your own.

Lastly, people love LCD Soundsystem, you can't deny its ability to make a crowd want to move. I saw them in DC once, and during the song "Yeah (Crass Version)" I glanced up, and not one of the hundreds of people there were standing still, it was absolutely amazing. Here is "Tribulations" (mp3) from the self titled album. Wow, and "Daft Punk is Playing at My House" (mp3). Buy this album, you will not regret it.

I promise a post about the New Years trip to NYC once Streets gets his act together.

Ryan, out.
